26+ Bmw E46 Overheat. I have a bmw, and it is overheating, i took it to a machanic, he changed the thermostat but still its overheating. Overheating and rattle coming from thermostat.

It is if the car is overheating then the thermostat may need replacing its like a electric oven it keeps one tempriture. My water pump is fine, the thermostat is okies, but the hose on top is hot and swollen.
Lower radiator hose seems empty up to the thermostat.

Bmw has such tight tolerances with the cylinder head that you really dont have have to put a new engine in 2002 bmw 325xi (e46). The car is not overheated at all times. Temp warning comes on and a restart of the car makes it go away.
